Lightning Spear Elden Ring Location And How To Obtain The Spell
The Lightning Spear incantation stands out as one of the most reliable ranged offensive spells in Elden Ring, making it a staple choice for Faith-focused builds. Offering fast projectile speed and minimal casting delay, it allows players to strike enemies from a safe distance during tough boss encounters or open-world exploration. To add this essential Dragon Cult spell to your arsenal, you must track down a specific prayerbook located in the Liurnia region.
Finding the Dragon Cult Prayerbook Location
Acquiring the Lightning Spear spell requires finding the Dragon Cult Prayerbook rather than collecting the spell directly. The key item is held by a heavily armored Leyndell Knight who patrols the area south of the Artist's Shack in eastern Liurnia of the Lakes. Players can easily reach this spot by traveling north along the highway from the Eastern Liurnia Highway Site of Grace.
Defeating this solitary golden knight requires careful dodging, as his shield and aggressive attacks can punish unprepared Tarnished. Once vanquished, he immediately drops the Dragon Cult Prayerbook alongside other potential crafting drops. Taking down this knight early in your Liurnia journey unlocks access to multiple powerful lightning incantations.
How to Turn in the Prayerbook and Learn the Spell
After securing the prayerbook, you must deliver it to an incantation merchant to purchase the spell. You can hand the book over to Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold or visit Miriel, Pastor of Vows, located at the Church of Vows. Miriel is often preferred by players because he remains in a fixed location throughout most of the game.
Once the merchant receives the Dragon Cult Prayerbook, Lightning Spear will become permanently available in their inventory for 6,000 Runes. Simply purchase the spell and assign it to an open spell slot at any Site of Grace to start casting.
Combat Strategy and Casting Insights
Lightning Spear requires 17 Faith to cast, making it accessible to early-game Faith users and hybrid character builds. The spell can be charged before release, increasing the overall damage output and adding an explosive impact on hit. Enemies frequently fail to dodge the incoming projectile, making it exceptionally effective against swift, reactive targets.
Equipping the Gravel Stone Seal provides a passive boost to all Dragon Cult incantations, significantly increasing the damage output of Lightning Spear. Additionally, pairing the spell with the Godfrey Icon talisman further enhances the potency of its charged attacks. Whether sniping distant foes or interrupting aggressive bosses, this incantation remains a top-tier option throughout your adventure across the Lands Between.
